Mr. Duncan is a native of Monticello, KY and a 2007 graduate of Wayne County High School. He is currently the Director of Choirs and Vocal Music at DeKalb School of the Arts. He received his Bachelor's of Music Education in Choral Music Education from the University of Kentucky. While at UK, Mr. Duncan studied choral conducting and choral music education with Dr. Lori Hetzel and Dr. Jefferson Johnson. He earned his Master's in Music Education from Campbellsville University and his EdS in choral music education from Auburn University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in choral music education at Auburn University. While at AU, he studied choral conducting with Dr. William Powell. Additionally, he serves as the choir and orchestra director at Dunwoody Baptist Church.
Mr. Duncan's chorus students are consistent members of GMEA All State Chorus and numerous Honor Choirs throughout the district, region, and state. His ensembles receive Superior Ratings at LGPE year after year. In addition to teaching, Mr. Duncan is an active performer. He is a professional bass-baritone for the highly acclaimed Atlanta Master Chorale and Cora Vocati, a professional chamber choir based here in Atlanta.
