Community Forum on Stopping Gun Violence

promote awareness and identify prevention strategies and resources to help eradicate the perils of gun violence in our communities. The event will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Dr. Ronald E. McNair High School in DeKalb County located at 1804 Bouldercrest Rd. S.E., Atlanta, Ga 30316. A reception to include an opportunity to network with an offering of light refreshments will begin at 6:00 p.m. The forum will be held from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. We have an impressive panel of experts and advocates who will share with the audience important information on how we can join forces to help reduce and/or eliminate gun violence. We are asking attendees to wear orange to support the national initiative “Wear Orange Weekend” to end gun violence which was started in 2015 by Everytown for Gun Safety. This national campaign was sparked by the death of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year old student, who was shot and killed a week after performing in President Barack Obama’s second inaugural parade in 2013.
